Bridgetown Beat

About Bridgetown Beat

Bridgetown Beat is an independent online magazine for Portland and the metro, named after one of the city's favorite nicknames. Every day we line up the stories Portland is talking about, the coffee, carts and breweries worth the line, the shows and makers keeping the city wonderfully weird, the trails from Forest Park to the Gorge and the local businesses making moves. We also keep a free guide to the radio stations broadcasting around Portland.

Bridgetown Beat is a reading site, not a radio station, and nothing here is broadcast. We just love the energy of great local radio, and Dial Portland is our free guide to the stations that are actually on the air.

Where our stories come from

Our headlines arrive through a licensed news API (Mediastack) along with Google News and Bing News, and Portland newsrooms always go first. Tap a headline and it opens on the newsroom that reported it, so you can read the full story there.

Bridge Notes

Bridge Notes are announcements from businesses and organizations, posted as they send them and always labelled Press Release.

Bridgetown Beat is independent and has no link to any station on Dial Portland.
